Tavar Zawacki aka 'ABOVE' is an American artist living and working between Berlin, Germany and Lisbon, Portugal for over twenty years. (1996–2016) Tavar lived in California until the age of 19, when he bought a one-way ticket to Paris, bringing with him only a backpack full of art supplies and less than $2,000. This is where he first developed and transitioned from painting traditional graffiti of ABOVE, and his famous Arrow icon that represents his mentality to rise above fears, challenges, and anything holding you back. The stickers of ABOVE can be seen now in over 80 cities and 35 countries around the world.
